I can only describe it as phenomenal

From Wendy, a Fall Alarm customer

I was given details of this device from an orthopaedic surgeon after my father fractured his pelvic girdle after a fall. Being in his 70’s and as he lives alone I took on board all the positives this device could give him. He wears his like a watch and never needs to take it off due to the rubber strap. He does need prompting to carry out the regular maintenance check and to acknowledge that his device is still connected to the internet.

It has never been needed thankfully or the emergency services called. It does give us peace of mind that the help will be there in no time at all. We also installed a key safe near his door helps us immensely.

There are only 3 people who have the number and I find the fewer people who can gain access to his property will keep him safe especially as he’s very trusting and will give money to anyone who asks regardless of whether they know him or not. Seeing the key safe does have its drawbacks though, it tells potential visitors (good or those with an agenda) that in 9/10 times the person is either elderly or infirm.

I have seen for myself the response time when carrying out a test and I can only describe as phenomenal.

The call handlers I’ve interacted with have been kind, supportive, patient, encouraging but most of all treated my father as a human being and not a number or income revenue.

I cannot recommend them enough because even after putting up a wall and didn’t want any “outside interference” he sees the box and wearable device as a life saver. He doesn’t like to admit he’s getting older and seeing the deterioration over the course of 5 years has been life changing for us both.

Please, please, please if you want that added security feature that these devices give get one and try for a year. Not only does it give them the independence to live in their own home and not be relegated to a care home but it shows the individual that they still can make their own decisions. This is fundamentally imperative as our parent/parents get older. The worry and stress that having your elderly parents fall and potentially break any bones and can be detected straight away and if no response they make arrangements for emergency car.
